Green Algae - Phylum: Chlorophyta

Whereas the Phylum: Chlorophyta contains ten currently recognized Classes, only one is of significance for the purpose of this web-site, the other nine being mostly unicellular organisms. The Class dealt with here are the Ulvophyceae which, amongst a sizeable number of unicellular Algae, also contains Sea Lettuces as well as plants known to most of us as 'seaweed'.
